Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble offers the most advanced instrumental experience through study and performance of high school and college level works for winds and percussion. Due to the soloist nature of part assignments, there is a strong emphasis on individual preparation for rehearsals and performance. Private study on principal instrument is strongly recommended. Wind Ensemble performs at a minimum of three concerts. Members are expected to participate in FBA Solo & Ensemble Contests. Members will have the opportunity to audition for FBA district festivals. Membership is determined by audition. Consent of the instructor and attendance at

performances are required. Wind Ensemble is available for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.

Jazz Band

This is the premier big band at Leto High School and intended for the most advanced and serious jazz musicians. The Jazz Band prides itself on pushing the boundaries of what is possible for a high school big band through performing the most challenging jazz literature, utilizing advanced improvisation skills, and performing at festivals and venues around the country. The Jazz Ensemble maintains an active performance schedule throughout the year.

Falcon Regiment

This performance ensemble provides a “society” and “family” to which all band students can belong. It is a place where they learn values and standards, where they can learn to depend on one another in their pursuit of excellence. They learn about responsibility, doing their fair share, and sticking to a common goal. They learn to value people, respect their peers and not make judgments on the superficial. They frequently acquire a stronger base for their adult life than any other avenue open to them. The Marching Band performs the half time program at all home football games and select away games.
