Aaron Cabrera, Director - Larissa McCoy, Principal
STAFF MEMBERS
Aaron Cabrera : Band Director
Aaron holds a Bachelor’s Degree in music education from the University of South Florida, where he studied clarinet with Mr. Calvin Fallwell of the Sarasota Orchestra and Mr. Brian Moorhead of the Florida Orchestra. At USF. Aaron served as principal clarinetist for the Symphonic Orchestra, as well as the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. A highlight of Aaron’s career was serving as the concert master at the USF Wind Ensemble’s performance at Carnegie Hall.
Aaron is an active member in the Florida Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the Florida Bandmasters Association. Aaron is a sought after guest clinician in the Tampa Bay area and currently resides in Hillsborough County.
Alex Lankford: Percussion Instructor
Alex has years of experience being a percussionist and in drum line. He plans on studying to get a degree. Alex attended Hillsborough High school.
Jessica Marino : Color Guard Instructor
Jessica has been involved with color guard for the past 21 years. She auditioned by accident with a friend her freshman year of high school and hasn't stopped since! She was a member of the River Ridge High School color guard from 1995-1999. After graduation, she pursued 5 years of drum corps with Spirit from 1999-2003 and she was honored to be color guard captain when the corps regained its finalist status in 2002 and 2003.
Jessica then moved in to the world of WGI performance with Paradigm from 2004-2007, Fahrenheit World from 2008-2011, the Black Watch in 2012 and finally USF World in 2013. She has enjoyed an Independent World finalist position with those collected groups 4 times.
On top of working full time as a certified veterinary technician and marching, Jessica also continued to teach and direct her original program at River Ridge High School for 11 years. Now Jessica works with the Leto High School Falcon Regiment Band.
Nick Gonzalez: Brass Instructor
Nick attended Hillsborough High School where he learned to march. He has years of experience playing a multitude of instruments and is currently enrolled in the University of South Florida. Majoring in music education, Nick performed with HOT Band and currently plays in the Tampa Brass Band.
